Today was fabulous!

Today was an amazing day.  The weather was gorgeous and cool with no cold breeze.  We had many runners and walkers participate in our 1st Annual Beverly Domestic (almost) 4 Mile Walk/Run.   Runners and walkers left shortly after the train went by and were all back before the train went by again.  We couldn't have been more pleased with the day.

I don't have the final number but we were able to raise more than expected for the DV Unit.  With these funds, we'll be able to positively impact many lives and get them started towards a new, positive direction.

Without the following businesses' support, we couldn't have been so successful today:

Thank you also to Waters and Brown who recently donated paint and supplies so we can add color to the DVU office so it's a more calming environment for victims to talk and receive counsel in.

We are looking forward to next year already.  I hope, if you joined us, you'll run or walk again.  If you weren't able to, we hope you will next year.  Stay tuned for pictures from the event and news on our 2013 run/walk!

The Run/Walk Route

Here is Saturday's route: West Street to Hale Street to second turn around right before Manchester and back down Hale to Hart Street. Left turn on Greenwood to Webster, right on Haskell, left on Hale, left on Oak, right on Hale back to West Beach.  We'll have signage and volunteers along the route as well as a water stop at the 2 mile marker to keep you on track.  The weather looks perfect for Saturday.  Not too hot, not too cold.

Join us and run so they don't have to!

On Saturday, October 27, 2012, we will be having our 1st Annual Beverly DVU 4 Mile Run.  We're still firming up the course and hope to have it up soon so you can check it out.  We've decided to abandon the traditional Lynch Park route in lieu of a scenic run in Beverly Farms that is set to start at West Beach.

Sign up today at: http://www.NorthShoreTimingOnline.com/reglivecb.aspx?eventyear_id=45

Can't run?  We need volunteers!

Can't volunteer?  We need sponsors!

Email us at beverlydvurun@gmail.com and let us know how you can help.

Spread the word!  Forward this on to any runners you know.  Let's all take a stand against domestic violence.

Why are we doing this?  See the stats below of what the Beverly DV Unit dealt with in 2011 and also in 2012 so far.  Let's give a helping hand and let the victims of domestic violence know their community cares.  100% of this year's race funds goes directly to helping victims with food vouchers, toiletries and caring for their basic needs.
